Day 9/8 postscript - Gate Outcomes - 2019

37,201 hot meals served to over 3,000 guests in nine locations.

The Gate peaked at 145 overnight guests, full capacity, here's how our week ended:

L was found accommodation and is now off the street, he has a new job starting next week

A was given the help he needed to get Universal Credit, he and N were also referred to a winter shelter.

S’s key worker visited her at the centre and arranged for her to go into hospital while he continues to work on making her accommodation secure.

L started a new job and received his first pay packet on Saturday, the Crisis Case Mgt. team have taken on his case, are helping him get a new passport and will continue to advocate for him in 2020.

M was reconnected to services in Birmingham (where he already has a connection) and given a coach ticket to return to accommodation there.

Two guests decided they wanted to return to their home country of Lithuania and we arranged their flights to return to their homes, a third guest has similarly been helped to return home to Bangladesh.

J, J and C have all been accepted by the Crisis Case Mgt. team who will continue to advocate for them in 2020.

P was sleeping rough, but the advice team looked into his case and discovered he had an offer of temporary accommodation, they reassured P about this offer and he is now going to give it a go.

Two guests were given beds in winter night shelters.

Four guests were accepted for the winter hub and given bridging accommodation in the interim.

Several guests were given help completing applications for EU settled status and Universal Credit.
